The Suffield girls lacrosse team fought Simsbury through the final minute of play in a 9-8 loss on Wednesday night. A possession near Simsbury's goal came up just short in the waning seconds of a game where fog and mist slickened the turf and forced both teams to dig deep.
Suffield (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season. The Wildcats begin a four-game road trip when they head to Avon (2-2) on Friday.
