Variety Show Brings out Hidden Talent

Suffield Middle School students shined during The Secret Garden Variety Show Thursday night.

Kermit the Frog danced and a wiener dog walked the stage during The Secret Garden Variety Show Thursday night.

A nearly full house of parents, staff and students packed the Suffield Middle School auditorium to enjoy the talents of more than 60 sixth, seventh and eighth graders who shared their variety of skills outside of the regular school day.

Middle school students as well as fifth graders attended showings throughout the school day on Thursday as well.

As is the purpose of talent shows, students got to see their classmates in a different light, whether singing, dancing, playing instruments or acting out creative skits.

In addition, school staff put their show skills forward as several teachers played piano, drums or simply acted silly.

Many staffers and middle schoolers contributed by designing sets and programs and working the audio-visual needs of the auditorium. Seventh graders used their QuEST period to create decorations, French students made flowers and eighth-grader Eva Hogan won the T-shirt design contest.
