The girls basketball team defeated Canton 56-45 in the North Central Connecticut Conference tournament on Monday in Ellington.

No. 3 Suffield (16-5) was led by Brianna Bishop who scored 22 points. Stephanie Guminiak added 12 for the Wildcats.

Sarah Benedetti led No. 6 Canton (11-10) with 26 points and Kathryn Curvino added nine.
