She has traveled abroad and to Massachusetts in search of greater opportunities to learn about language and culture and for her dedication Cassidy Anthony has been named the Suffield High School World Language Student of the Month.
"Cassidy has consistently shown great dedication to broadening her cultural experiences, deepening her language skills and seeking out opportunities to communicate with peers across the world during her years at Suffield High School," language teacher Carl Casinghino said recently.
Currently, Anthony is in the AP French Language and Culture class at Suffield High and visited France on a class trip last spring. While there, she took part in a home stay and attended classes at Descartes High School in Tours, followed by a cultural visit to Paris.
"She was an enthusiastic and responsible participant," Casinghino said, adding, "Cassidy has continued to correspond with friends in France since the visit."
Last summer Anthony attended an institute at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, during which she was able to meet students from across the globe and roomed with students from China.
Anthony is a member of the senior class council and a performer in the school musicals, as well as is an award-winning member of the championship Debate Team.
Anthony plans to develop her French skills further through advanced studies and more travel experiences.
