Suffield Changes Emergency Alert System

The Suffield Board of Selectmen recently decided to change the town's emergency contact provider. To make sure you're contacted during an emergency, follow the link in this article to submit your information.

The Town of Suffield has put new emergency contact system in place and residents and businesses are encouraged to register their phone numbers.

The CodeRed system, which the town has used previously, is replacing the Everbridge system used by the town during recent emergencies including the severe Halloween weekend snowstorm. CodeRed can contact 1,000 residents per minute and the entire town in approximately a half hour.

Town officials are encouraging residents to input their contact information into CodeRed. The town website notes that individuals and businesses using unlisted numbers, cell phones and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) are especially encouraged to add to the database.
