Under state law, the Governor is required to issue a Writ of Special Election within 10 days of a vacancy in the General Assembly, and a special election must be held 46 days after its issuance. The writs — one for each of the town clerks of East Granby, Suffield and Windsor — were signed by Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, who is serving as Acting Governor, and are being filed today.
