Town Shelter Open: Saturday Night Storm Update From First Selectman Tom Frenaye

The first selectman updates the town on the state of the storm and its effects on Suffield on Saturday night.

Today's nor'easter has brought most of the town, and state to a halt. Totals are around 5 inches of very heavy, wet snow and there is little traffic on the streets.  Many streets are closed or partly closed because of fallen trees.

The Town has opened the emergency shelter at on Sheldon Street. Travel is difficult, four-wheel drive is necessary.

Heavy snow is expected to continue for several more hours. Residents are urged to stay off the roads until state and town crews are able to clear the snow.
