Woman Charged With Human Trafficking at Windsor Locks Spa

Chun Lan Tam Wang is accused of holding a female victim against her will and forcing her to perform sex acts on customers.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of holding another woman against her will and forcing her to perform sex acts at a recently-opened spa in Windsor Locks.

Chun Lan Tam Wang is charged with human trafficking, second-degree promoting prostitution, second-degree unlawful restraint, cruelty to persons, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. She was held on $250,000 bond.

Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Windsor Locks police were called to the Century Spa at 5 National Drive, off Halfway House Road, upon a report of a disturbance. With the assistance of Homeland Security agents, an investigation determined a Chinese woman who spoke little English had been held against her will at the business for the past two weeks, Capt. Chester Degray said.

The victim told police she had been lured to the business from New York, and upon arriving, Wang refused to allow her to leave or contact anyone for help. Wang allegedly told the victim that she could make money for food by performing certain sexual acts on customers of the spa, Degray said.

i grew up in this town. bought a house here to raise my 3 children and bragged to my husband who was raised in enfield that this town was the place to be. Im so disappointed. half the school is filled with kids bused from hartford that bullly our kids and walk shoulder to shoulder as a reminder that they run the show. the drugs in this town are heartbreaking and I am putting finishing touches on home to move. Am truely heartbroken. We are blessed to have some of the best police officers there are though! thanks for listening Karen
