Tractor Batteries Stolen From Bielonko Farm

Police are investigating the theft of 17 batteries, which was reported Wednesday.

Suffield police are investigating the theft of more than a dozen tractor batteries from a prominent farm in town.

The theft was reported Wednesday by the Bielonko family, which owns Bielonko Farm on Route 159, Police Chief Michael Manzi said.

A total of 17 batteries were stolen from Farmall tractors on the property; in addition, the hose lines were clipped and gasoline stolen out of the tractors, Manzi reported.

On her Facebook page, Kathy Bielonko said there was "gas all over the ground."

Manzi said fresh footprints of a size 16 shoe or boot were found in the snow in the area.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Suffield Police Department at 860-668-3870.
