By Chris Dehnel

A Suffield man was formally charged by Vernon police for a 2009 case in which a car was broken into at a busy Route 30 shopping plaza, an arrest report indicates.

Thomas Donfrancesco, 40, who lives at 1153 East St., Suffield, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree larceny for the incident in which a car was broken into at the Vernon Commons shopping plaza on Route 30, known locally as 520 Hartford Turnpike, according to an arrest report.

Items worth $1,500 were taken, police said.

Police said evidence was compiled at three scene and run through crime labs and that resulted in a warrant.

On Wednesday, Donfrancesco was at Rockville Superior Court for an unrelated matter and the warrant was served, police said.
