Suffield Fireman's Carnival Kicks Off Thursday

Rides, fair food, fireworks and parade mark annual celebration.

One of Suffield's favorite traditions kicks off Thursday night with the annual fireman's carnival at Spaulding School.

The three-day festival begins at 6 p.m. Thursday with family night, when rides at the carnival are discounted. Games, rides and food are hosted on the school grounds at 945 Mountain Road. Firefighters cook burgers, dogs and fried dough.

Friday night the carnival again starts up at 6 p.m. and a fireworks display is set off beginning around 9:30 p.m.

The final night of the carnival begins Saturday when the fireman's parade steps off at 6 p.m. Fire departments from around the area bring their trucks to join the parade.
