[Updated] Police: Suffield Woman Attacked, Sexually Assaulted in her Home

The woman was taken to the hospital after being attacked by an unknown assailant Friday night, according to police.

State and local police are investigating an attack on a woman Friday night in her Thrall Avenue home.

The unidentified woman was beaten and sexually assaulted by an unknown assailant, according to Suffield Police Lt. Richard Brown.

Police remain at the house, processing the scene with assistance from the state police major crime squad, according to State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance.

Shortly after midnight, Suffield police were called to the residence for a reported assault, according to Brown. When police arrived, they forced their way into the house after seeing the woman through the window lying on the floor, according to police.

“The woman was visibly wounded and terrified when police located her,” according to a Suffield police news release.

The woman was taken to the hospital after telling police that an unknown male intruder had sexually assaulted her, according to police.

Police are looking for a white man, aged 25 years to 40 years and about 6-foot to 6-feet, 2-inches tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt covered by a red flannel shirt, jeans, work boots, a ski mask and black gloves. The man is reported to be armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information about the incident or who has seen the individual is asked to call the Suffield Police Department at (860) 668-3870.
