[Updated] Passengers Not Seriously Injured After Helicopter Rolls Over at Ellington Airport

The crash was reported at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Update, 1:30 p.m.

According to Ellington Fire Department Deputy Chief Brendan Burke, the helicopter contained two people - a student and a pilot- and that it had a hard landing and rolled over.

Burke said that one person had a small cut on his face and the other is fine.

"They're lucky," he said. "Two lucky people. It's better than it could have been."

There was a fuel leak but it was contained. Burke said that the runway will be shut down until the FAA gets there to investigate.
