A social studies teacher at in Enfield has been suspended amidst allegations of an improper relationship with at least one female student.
"A high school teacher has been placed on leave indefinitely pending an investigation," Superintendent of Schools John Gallacher said earlier this month. Gallacher originally did not identify the individual or the school, but confirmed Monday the teacher is Tyler Wells.
Gallacher said Wells was placed on "paid administrative leave" beginning Friday, June 15. He referred all other questions to the .
Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza acknowledged that an investigation is being conducted by the detective bureau into the allegations. He would not comment further.
A check with Enfield police Tuesday afternoon revealed that no charges have yet been filed.
