Bourque Enters Not Guilty Plea on Marijuana Charge

Granby police captain faces more serious charges of possession of child pornography.

Granby police Capt. David Bourque, who has been charged in federal court with possession of child pornography, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to a state charge of marijuana possession, according to The Hartford Courant.

Bourque was arrested April 26 on a charge of possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Court records indicate the marijuana was discovered April 11, the date federal and state authorities searched Bourque's Suffield home and his office at the Granby police station in connection with an investigation into child pornography.

According to an affidavit written by State Trooper Adam Rosenberg, there was a safe found in the master bedroom on home's second floor. Bourque gave state police the combination to the safe. There was a brown bag containing a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance in it, which turned out to be marijauna. The bag contained approximately 0.2 ounces of marijuana, Rosebberg wrote.
