"Last night was his first night at home, and this morning he will wake up surrounded by his new family," Shelter Connecticut said via Facebook. "Don't you just love the thought of that? We're hoping to get photos soon — when we do, we will be sure to share! In the meantime, let's congratulate Brodie and the Butkus family and wish them all the happiness in the world as they embark on their new life together!"

Brodie has been in an animal shelter since January and desperately needs a home. Shelter Connecticut shared his picture on its Facebook page and said he is feeling the strain of shelter life and needs a new home, sooner than later.

On his Petfinder listing, the words "last chance" are before his name.
