School Superintendent Receives 2.9% Raise

I was having coffee yesterday with one of the members from the Board of Education.  I was shocked to find out that the Superintendent of Schools was just offered and accepted and 2.9% pay raise.  I find that suprising as teachers and other town employees have been asked to sacrifice pay increases to to budget constaints.  I guess in this case, lead by example is not  a principle our superintendent has chosen to utilize.   As a taxpayer, I wonder what is going on with the Board of Education.  Think we need some changes?
