100 Days to Sochi!

It seems impossible but we're just 100 days from the Opening Ceremonies in Sochi, Russia for the 2014 Olympic Games.  And just today, USA Luge unveiled their new Luge uniforms (including speedsuit, helmet and customized sled).  

These uniforms are different from ones in past Games, as they were selected by public vote.  This summer, there were 4 different designs created by Valiant Comics (a Luge sponsor) and the public was invited to vote on their favorite.  After 15,000 votes were cast, this was the winning design - and thankfully my favorite as well as the favorite of most of the USA Luge team athletes!  

It's starting to be very "real" for all of us who follow winter sports.  In just over 3 months, the world will visit a very small town on "the Russian Riviera" and the Games will once again capture the spirit of countries, competition and collaboration.  We're still hoping that Emily will qualify for the team and we will be there in person...but if not, we'll definitely be watching from home to see our beloved athletes in their new snazzy uniforms.  Hope you will be, too!
