Suffield Garden Club Hosts 36th Annual May Market This Saturday

A huge selection of plantings will be available at the popular event.

Written by Cami Beiter

On Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Suffield Garden Club will be celebrating its 36th Annual May Market. It will be held, as usual, on the grounds and in the barn of the historic Phelps-Hatheway House located at 55 South Main Street, Suffield. This has become a popular event throughout the surrounding area due to the large selection and competitive pricing.

You will find large assortments of specialty trees and shrubs supplied by both the garden club and its many vendors. Large, blooming geraniums grown by the Agriscience students at Suffield High are a popular favorite. The Agriscience students also have a large selection of flats containing annual, perennial and vegetable seedlings.

Be sure to visit the sought-after Attic Treasures available for purchase inside the barn, where a variety of reasonably priced unique gifts are displayed.  And don’t miss the Gourmet Food Booth containing home baked goods by garden club members. At the Garden Club booth, feel free to ask any questions regarding your gardening needs or purchase one of the popular Polish Pottery stepping stones.  With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it’s a perfect opportunity to pick up something for that special mother. All this and much, much more.

Admission is FREE.  For additional information, visit suffieldgardenclub.org. Come rain or shine!
