Want to Say Farewell to the Porta-Potty at Suffield High School?

The 1st Annual Suffield Athletic Department 5k Road Race, to benefit the new Suffield High School pavilion, will be held Sunday May 15, 2011.

The Suffield Rotary Club has committed to help build a pavilion on the High School grounds that will provide handicapped-accessible restrooms, a concession stand and a covered patio area.

Upon completion no longer will one need to enter the dreaded Porta-Potty or hike all the way to the school itself to use the restroom, only to find the building locked. The Suffield High School Booster Club and other organizations will not need to move tables, chairs and food at the start and end of the games and meets at the High School.

The cost of the Pavilion is expected to be $260,000. The Rotary has committed to providing $130,000, half of the cost of this building. Requests have been made to other town clubs and businesses for the remaining $130,000.
