Holy Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 585 South Street (Rt. 75) will observe Maundy Thursday-Holy Thursdays, on Thursday, April 17, at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m., with a service of Holy Communion as the worshiping community relives Jesus' institution of the Lord's Supper on the first Maundy Thursday.  Jesus was also betrayed and arrested on Maundy Thursday; in observance of his arrest and trial, the Altar will be “stripped” during the 7:00 p.m. service--the paraments and furnishings  are removed in a dramatic fashion, symbolizing Jesus’ humiliation and preparation for death.
