Good Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 585 South Street (Rt. 75) will observe Good Friday with services of Tenebrae on April 18 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.  “Tenebrae” comes from the Latin word “darkness.”  During the service a series of candle are snuffed out, reminding us of Jesus’ betrayal and rejection by humanity.  One candle remains lit at the close of the Tenebrae, but it leaves the worship area for a while, a reminder that while Jesus died he did not remain dead, but was raised to life on Easter Sunday.
