Design and Fly an Airplane for Distance Flight

With the help of a museum educator, fly the balsa airplane
as it is with 50 winder turns and count the number of laps it flies in the
air.  Make a design change that will
allow it to fly further given the same number of winder turns.  Subtract the difference in flying distance
between a group's shortest and longest flights.
The team with the largest difference is the winner.  Visitors will also have the chance to
discover the Museum's 80 aircraft, and participate in a variety of
activities.  These include: build and fly
a model, watch a flight science demonstration, hear from a storyteller, and sit
in the cockpit of an aircraft.  Check
with the museum for daily program details and schedules.  Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free
with a Museum admission.  Programs and times
are subject to change without notice.
