Suffield Emergency Management has sent out a storm update via the CodeRED Alert Message system, urging residents to stay home.
Town roads should not be used after 5 p.m. Friday and until further notice, the bulletin said.
The Emergency Operations Center will open at 5 p.m. Friday, and residents with power outages or questions can call 860-668-3886 after that time. For emergencies that require fire, police or ambulance, call 911.
At this time, the town does not expect to open an emergency shelter. In previous storms, a shelter has been opened at Suffield High School.
Plow crews are expected to be working straight through Friday into Saturday, the notice said.
