September 16: Fairs, Expositions and Corn Fests

1. It will be sunny today with a high temperature of 66 °F. The wind will come from the north at speeds between 8 mph and 15 mph and gusts may reach 28 mph. 2. Tis the season for midway games, fried food, cotton candy and livestock shows. If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, there are plenty of fairs taking place. 3. in Somers continues today and throughout the weekend. Live music from the Truck Stop Troubadours, Aquanett and Shakin’ All Over and others will be a highlight. A parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, oxen, pony and horse pulls, Bingo, doodlebug (tractor) pulls, raffles and other contests take place on Saturday and Sunday. 4. opens its gates tonight and runs through October 2 in West Springfield, Mass. Food, rides, world class entertainment, Mardi Gras parades, the Big E super circus, motocross championships and so much more are on the agenda. 5. If you're looking for a smaller-scale event, the takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street Green. The event will feature approximately 100 vendors, food, inflatable rides, pony rides, hay rides, firefighting equipment and demonstrations.
