Patch Picks: Super Bowl Crawl

When Steelers take on the Packers for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, you want to be where the action is. Here are five top options.

  • The Scene: Right over the Connecticut River in Enfield, Chicago Sam's is a large and popular sports bar featuring a wealth of beers on tap, a diverse menu and plenty of high-definition TVs to watch the big game on. With plentiful bar and table seating, there are plenty of places to get your football (and commercial) fix this Sunday.
  • The Scene: AD's is a dedicated Steeler bar in Windsor Locks, so head there if you're pulling for the boys from Blitzburgh this Sunday. Expect Terrible Towels, reminiscing on the Steel Curtain, and double takes if a confused Cheesehead happens to wander in.
  • The Scene: Just a short drive down route 75, The Fan Club in Windsor Locks is spacious and relaxed, with many TVs and a "liquid" bar top if the game can't hold your interest. A full-service kitchen compliments the many beers, wines and mixed drinks offered. If you're looking for a sports bar close to home, this may just be the place.
  • The Scene: Further down the road than The Fan Club but with more of a family atmosphere, Buffalo Wild Wings consistently draws big crowds before big sports events. If you plan on going, get there early and get set up with some of their wide selection of wings, beers and mixed drinks. Most seats in the house have a direct line of sight to a high-definition TV.
  • The Scene: Head to Springfield's Basketball Hall of Fame for a high-class menu and 18 beers on tap. Take in the Super Bowl in a more refined atmosphere and have a little basketball with your football this Sunday.
