June 15: More News From Suffield Schools

Retirements, celebrations and impeding graduations are part of a flurry year-end activity at Suffield schools.

1. It will be partly sunny today with a high temperature of 81 °F. The wind will come from the north at speeds between 5 mph and 10 mph and wind gusts may reach 20 mph. It will be partly cloudy tonight with an overnight low of 54 °F. The wind will come from the south at speeds between 3 mph and 6 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Suffield Board of Education honored a number of retiring educators last night. The highest profile retirement was that of Ed Garvey, vice principal of Suffield High School.

3. McAlister Intermediate School students celebrated the completion of their years at that school with a luau at Sunrise Park on Monday.
