April 4: Suffield Street Bridge Closed Today

1. There is a 90 percent chance of rain today with most of it falling before 2 p.m. The high temperature today is 52 °F. The wind will come from south at speeds between 7 mph and 14 mph. Look for patchy fog before 3 p.m. There is a chance of showers and a thunderstorm tonight and the overall chance of precipitation is 60 percent. It will be cloudy tonight with an overnight low of 49 °F, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Suffield Street will be closed to through traffic starting on Monday. The bridge over Stony Brook will be replaced and construction is expected to take about eight months – until the end of November.

3. The Suffield Board of Finance will meet at 7 p.m. at the Suffield Police Station for a budget review meeting. The Suffield Water Pollution Control Authority, Board of Education and Advisory Commission on Capital Expenditures will all present their budgets for the coming year.
