April 27: Budget Hearing Tonight

1. The high temperature is 78 °F today and there will be clouds throughout the day and evening. There is a 30 percent chance of precipitation during the day and a 40 percent chance at night. The overnight low is 58 °F, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The town's budget for the coming fiscal year will be presented at a public hearing today. Citizens can ask questions about the budget before it is presented for a vote at a town meeting. The hearing will take place at Suffield High School at 7 p.m.

3. A referendum will be held for Suffield citizens and property owners to vote on the four projects proposed for bonding. The projects, totalling $14.8 million, are Town Hall renovations, road and drainage improvements, new fire equipment and a new library. Look for more this week on Suffield Patch. The referendum will take place Thursday at Suffield Middle School from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
