Youth Month Enjoyed at the Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union

The Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union (TVTFCU), located at 182 South Road in Enfield, celebrated National Credit Union Youth Month in April for its youth members. The credit union participates annually in this youth financial literacy effort through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).   This year’s theme was, “Catch the Save Wave.” Youth members received a money skills booklet, stickers, financial activity sheets and prizes. They could also enter the National Youth Savings Challenge, sponsored by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for a chance to win a $100 cash prize from this organization. Plus youth could enter a prize drawing for a chance to win a gift basket!

The credit union also hosted a Coin Drive through the “Credit Union for Kids” fundraising effort to benefit the CT Children’s Medical Center/Children’s Miracle Network and a Book Drive to benefit the non-profit Read to Grow organization.

“We are so pleased to celebrate youth month each year. It’s a great opportunity for our youth members to come into the credit union and learn about saving their money. We always try to make it fun as well as educational. We’d like to send out a big thank you to all of our members and staff that donated to our Coin and Book Drive. We appreciate your support of these worthy causes,” said Myrijam Meserve, CEO/Manager of the Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union.
