The First National Bank of Suffield hosts Free Shred Day in Windsor Locks

The First National Bank of Suffield will host a Community Shred Day on Saturday, June 21, 2014. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a mobile shredding truck will be on hand to shred personal documents for free.

The event will be held at the Bank’s Windsor Locks office, located on Route 75.

According to Bank President Nancy Viggiano, “The Bank is presenting four Shred Days this year because we believe these events help residents combat the very serious and growing threat of identity theft. The First National Bank of Suffield is dedicated to supporting our communities by donating to a number of local charitable organizations, presenting special events and offering financial education. We invite everyone in our communities to join us as we celebrate our 150th anniversary all year long—check our website for monthly events.”

Identity theft is one of the fastest growing forms of consumer fraud. Many individuals continue to dispose of personal papers in non-secure places, such as garbage bags or recycling bins, where they can be stolen. The Bank offers Shred Days to encourage proper destruction of documents.
