Readers' Choice: Spencer on Main is Suffield's 'Staycation' Spot

This week's Readers' Choice poll asked Suffield Patch readers to share their favorite "staycation" spots in town, places to take visitors and to take a break and relax. was far and away the winner of the poll, earning nearly half the vote.

Spencer on Main, , was the popular choice among other relaxing spots in Suffield. Other locations picked by readers included , the bed and breakfast, the Congamond Lakes, and the Phelps-Hatheway House.

Suffield Patch user Eileen had this to say about this week's winner: "Spencer on Main is a very special place and you both [owners Caroline and Etienne] make a stay more like an event."

Other "staycation" spots earning praise included the Phelps-Hatheway House. Suffield Patch user Susan Shaffer-Bartley said, "The Hatheway House is great for the interesting history of Suffield and the beauty of the grounds. Good for kids and adults."

Sunrise Park also had its supporters. "Sunrise Park's natural beauty is at the top of the list," said Suffield Patch user Diana L. Ferrari. "It almost makes one feel that they've stepped back in time.
