High and Low Fuel Prices for Aug. 9

Connecticut residents are paying $4.01 per gallon of gas on average Tuesday, 36 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.65. Connecticut gas prices are the second highest in the nation. Hawaii’s average per-gallon price of $4.14 is the most expensive.
The national per-gallon average is down 5 cents from Thursday, Aug. 4. The Connecticut state average also fell 5 cents in the same period, according to AAA.
One gallon of gasoline cost $2.89 on average in Connecticut on Aug. 9, 2010, $1.12 less than the current average price. An average gallon of gas in Connecticut was priced at approximately $3.30 on Jan. 1, 75 cents less than the current average price.
