Grab and Go Kids Planner: Feb. 10 - Feb. 14

Reptiles, fairs, ice fishing and crafts are featured for the coming days.

We have five events to check out over the coming days, with a focus on things the whole family can enjoy.

Where/When: Crystal Lake in Ellington on Saturday. Registration starts at 5:30 a.m. at the Rockville Fishing and Gaming clubhouse at 5 Crystal Street. The event goes from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Ice fishing is a great way to take advantage of the cold weather. Cash prizes of $500, $400, $250, $150 and $50 will be up for grabs as well as a fishing tackle prize for participants under 16 years of age.

Pricing: Adults pay $20 to enter, children under age 16 pay $10.

6TH ANNUAL BIG Y KIDS FAIR

Where/When: The Hartford Expo Center at 265 Reverend Moody Overpass in Hartford, on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, clowns and magicians, rides, chances to win Connecticut Whale and Rock Cat tickets and more at the Expo Center. The fair offers entertainment, celebrity appearances and activities geared towards families with babies and toddlers.

Pricing: Adults pay $8 and get 50 percent off with a Big Y card, children pay $4, with a free ride included in admission.

REPTILES: THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE DEADLY

Where/When: The Springfield Science Museum at 21 Edwards St., Springfield, Mass., every day through May 22.

Why Go: Get up close and personal with a host of living reptiles from all over the planet. Monitor lizards, alligator snapping turtles, cobras, chameleons, vipers and rattlesnakes will all be present. Learn about, view, interact with and discover more about all sorts of reptiles.

Pricing: Adults pay $17.50, children between age 3 and age 17 pay $11.50.

Where/When: Enfield Square, today through Monday. The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Why Go: Many diverse vendors will be present in Enfield Square. Featured wares include personalized signs, animal memorabilia, mineral stones, Celtic music, home improvements, Tupperware and much more.

Pricing: Free.

VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY

Where/When: The Lutz Children's Museum at 247 South Main Street in Manchester, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy crafts, games and holiday-themed stories at the Lutz Museum’s party.

Pricing: Members pay $13 and non-members pay $15.
