If you've ever been curious about how to pan for gold you'll get a lesson on just what is involved if you participate in this summertime event held June 2.
From 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Bruce Park Pavilion, rain or shine, Bill Fournier, a JPL/NASA Solar System Ambassador, will instruct children and adults on the best gold panning techniques. Participants will get to keep the "fool's gold" that you trial pan, for practice any other time.
If you plan on attending it is recommended to wear your “grubby” old prospecting clothes.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and there is limited enrollment with the registration deadline of Tuesday, May 29 or when program is full. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and under age 3 is free.
Visit the town's website for more information and to register.
