Don’t miss this afternoon of indoor and outdoor activities for adults and families alike in conjunction with the CHS’s two newest exhibit, New Life for Connecticut Trees: Furniture by City Bench and Lost Landscapes: Great Trees from Connecticut’s Past. Activities begin with a reading of Dr. Seuss’s classic tale of trees and conservation, The Lorax, at 12:30 pm. At 1:00 pm, a fall tree walk with local expert Ed Richardson will examine the wide variety of trees on the CHS grounds. At 2:00 pm, Ted and Zeb Esselstyn, the City Bench artist-craftsmen, will give an informal gallery talk and answer questions about their furniture and how they recycle trees into inspiring works of art. Hands-on activities for kids will be ongoing from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.
Event is free with general admission.
FREE on-site parking is available.
