Tennis Lessons, Earth Day and Jelly Beans: Suffield's Daily 5

Five things Suffield residents should know for Monday, April 22.

Good morning, Suffield! Today is Monday, April 22, 2013; there are 253 days left in the year.

Here's your Daily 5:

1. Monday, April 22 is the deadline to register for youth beginner and intermediate tennis lessons, offered by the Suffield Parks & Recreation Department. Lessons will run Mondays from April 29 through May 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Fee is $30 for Suffield residents, $35 for non-residents. Contact the Parks & Rec office at 860-668-3862.

2. Speaking of tennis, Suffield Patch is planning to cover Monday's boys tennis match between Suffield High School and the Ellington/Somers co-op team at 3:45 p.m. Other Wildcat teams in action Monday include girls golf (vs. Cheshire at Copper Hill, 3 p.m.), softball (vs. East Granby, 3:45 p.m.), baseball (at East Granby, 3:45 p.m.) and girls tennis (at Ellington/Somers, 3:45 p.m.).

3. April 22 is Earth DayNational Jelly Bean Day and Girl Scout Leaders Day.

4. Monday will be sunny, with a high temperature near 59, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Monday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
