Suffield Senior Center Garden In The Works
The Suffield Senior Center installed vegetable gardens on Saturday.
Volunteers from Suffield and members of FEB Landscaping and Construction worked Saturday to bring vegetable gardens to the Suffield Senior Center.
The group began work on the gardens, designed by the Suffield Garden Club along with FEB, in late May and had four plantable beds as of Saturday.
These gardens will harbor a new gardening program for the seniors. The four recently completed beds will be used to plant tomatoes, according to Joyce Zien, member of the Suffield Garden Club.

The project is on budget, a $5,000 donation from the Suffield Garden Club and donations of supplies and plants from people across Suffield helping the project along, according to Zien.
Help came from outside the club and FEB, with local Cub Scouts and Suffileld High School students pitching in to get the work done.

Zien estimated the project will take the whole season to be completed, with fences, bushes and beds still needing to be finished.
Zien said the gardens wouldn't exist without the many hours of labor donated by FEB Landscaping.
