Sunday is Father's Day, and we want you to upload pictures of your dad in celebration of all he means or meant to you.

Father's Day is Sunday, June 17, and Suffield Patch is asking its readers to show us photos of their dads.

From now through Monday, June 18, we are asking you to upload a photo of your dad. In the caption underneath the photo, tell us why your dad is or was so special to you.

To upload a photo, sign in to the Suffield Patch site and click the green "Upload Photos" button. If you are not yet a registered user of the site, click here to get signed up.

According to Wikipedia, Father's Day originated in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910. A bill to accord national recognition of the holiday was introduced in Congress in 1913, but it took more than a half century before President Lyndon Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers in 1966, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day.

Father's Day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.
