1. Dr. Thomas V. Johnson, DPM, of Suffield, has been named President of the Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association.
2. Award-winning author Andre Dubus III will speak Tuesday, April 30 at the Kent Memorial Library in a kickoff fundraiser sponsored by the Suffield Public Library Foundation. Tickets are $15, and are available at the library.
3. April 30 is National Oatmeal Cookie Day, National Honesty Day and International Jazz Day.
4. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 71, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 37.
