Where/When: South Windsor Arena, March 4, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and March 6, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: It's affordable seasonal fun for the whole family.

Pricing: Admission - $7; Skate Rental - $3 

READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY BOOK SWAP

Where/When: Enfield Public Library, March 2, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss by bringing in lightly used books from your own collection and swapping for some others to keep.

Pricing: FREE

PARENTS NIGHT OUT

Where/When: Simsbury Gymnastics Training Center, March 5, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Parents can experience a night on the town while the kids enjoy games, pizza and movies.

Pricing: Non-members add $10 to the following prices: $25 per child; $40 for two siblings; $55 for three siblings; $75 for four or more siblings.

UCONN EQUESTRIAN TEAM SHOW

Where/When: Horsebarn Hill Arena, March 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: You can catch a UConn home show and grab some ice cream after the event.

Pricing: FREE

STARS OVER SPRINGFIELD

Where/When: Springfield Science Museum, March 4, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: See the stars in the night sky from the museum's observatory and on the green. The Springfield Stars Club will be on hand as well.

Pricing: $3 - Adults, $2 - Kids
