Suffield Police Department to Sponsor Food Drive on April 26th

The Suffield Police Department is organizing its annual food drive to benefit the Emergency Aid Association (EAA) of Suffield. The food drive is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th, outside of Highland Park Market at 9 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m. The items collected will be used to help Suffield residents who are struggling with health and financial challenges. In addition to non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and health care items, the department will be collecting donations of gift cards redeemable at Highland Park Market and other area grocery stores.

As an added incentive, donations raised through this event will be reported to the Feinstein Foundation for purposes of obtaining a cash donation to the EAA Food Pantry.  The Feinstein Foundation is offering a $1 million challenge, again this year, to help fight hunger. The challenge period is from March 1 through April 30, 2014.  All donations received during the time period will be divided proportionately among those agencies receiving donations.   For reporting purposes, the value of each item donated is $1.00!
