Connecticut Water’s Dan Lesnieski receives distinguished award from Water for People

Connecticut Water Company is pleased to announce that Daniel F. Lesnieski, its Infrastructure Rehabilitation Manager, has been recognized for his work to bring safe drinking water to people living in poverty by Water for People. Water for People, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe water and sanitation services for people living in poverty, and its Connecticut Chapter has recognized Dan with the Kenneth J. Miller Founders’ Award in 2013. Presented annually, the Founders’ Award gives volunteers special recognition for their service and leadership in advancement of the Water For People mission at the local committee and regional levels.

Mr. Lesnieski has been active in Water for People for more than 20 years and has lead or been involved in fundraising efforts that have raised more than $325,000 over the past 20 years that have been used to fund clean drinking water projects in developing nations. The Founders’ Award was established in honor of Kenneth Miller, one of the organization’s founders and presidents, the award seeks to inspire individuals to emulate his example of self-sacrificing volunteer service.

Terry P. O’Neill, Vice President – Service Delivery, commented that Mr. Lesnieski exemplifies the values of the Founder’s Award. He stated, “Dan has volunteered countless hours toward helping Water for People fulfill its mission of helping families and communities enjoy the life-sustaining benefits of safe drinking water.”

Mr. Lesnieski has served in various capacities at Connecticut Water in his 31 year career. Currently he is responsible for managing the Company’s WICA (Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment) program that enables the Company to replace unreliable and undersized pipe through a modest surcharge on customers’’ bills.

Dan lives in Windsor Locks with his wife Chris and daughter Greer.
