Interactive Map of Suffield is Full of Info

The town's new GIS maps allow users to see construction details, find out assessed value and much more for all properties in Suffield.

Suffield’s residents can use the town’s new geographic information system (GIS) map service to quickly and easily find a variety of information about properties in town.

With the maps, residents can figure out who owns a particular property, get information about abutments for your property, find in-depth construction details, see home and building values and more.

To access the GIS maps of Suffield: follow this link (the link is also available on the town's homepage). On the GIS maps main page, you can search for a specific address by using the fields on the left side of the main page. Alternatively, click on the "interactive mapping" link near the center of the main page to see a map of Suffield.

To see the basic information: Once on the map and zoomed in far enough to see individual properties (use the scale bar in the top left corner of the map, or the magnifying glass tool at the bottom left to zoom in and out), simply click on a property to see a pop-up window that includes the owner's name, acreage, year built and links to more information.

To find specific details: Click the "parcel details" link to see in-depth property, construction and home information as well as the assessed and appraised values. Click the "property card" link to download a .pdf file of the same information for the property.

To generate a list of abutting properties: In the pop-up window, enter a distance in feet in the field marked "generate abutters" to find all abutting properties within that distance of the selected property.

To measure distances and property sizes: Use the measuring tools at the bottom right of the window to measure distance, length of path and total area.

To see contour and elevation, color-coded zoning and wetlands map layers: Use the drop-down "map layer" menu near the top right of the map to choose the map layers you want to see. You can also view a photo map of town. Hover your cursor over the text in the drop-down menu to see the description keys for the different kinds of maps.
